Grisha Bruskin serves as a symbol of the first wave of Western interest in our modern art. It was precisely his painting “Fundamental Lexicon” that fetched a record high price (about $500,000) in the first, and so far only, Sotheby’s auction held in Moscow in 1988.
That record was broken only in 2006 by the great Krasnopevtsev at the Sotheby’s auction held in London. The new record is $900,000. Grisha Bruskin is young and energetic. It’s his turn to give the word.
